First reason of its failure is any physical abuse to it and other reason is its wearing out with time as well as continuous operation. Even failures of these compressors are classified in many types. Compressors of these types can fail either shorted or open, with piston failure, valve failure, or its bearing failure. In case, a compressor’s failure occurs in open then inside them a breakage of wire takes place. If one does not understand it at first then he should look out for probable symptoms. Some of these symptoms are humming of compressor without actually running. In such cases, entire compressor has to be replaced by a new one. However, in this failure no other part of system is affected. In addition, replacing it simply would be a cost effective method. Before replacing an air condition compressor however it is necessary to test it first with help of ohmmeter. If it shows high impedance from one terminal connection to another then it is best to get it replaced.
